Our unforgettable women's retreat to Santa Fe was an experience rich in creativity, connection, and discovery. Nestled in the heart of the Southwest, this journey was a vibrant tapestry of desert landscapes, artistic exploration, and the powerful bond of community. We were able to remember how innately creative we all truly are— by dropping in and allowing our inner child to explore without restraint!
We began with an awe-inspiring road trip through the desert, marveling at the expansive skies and rugged beauty that enveloped us. The shifting hues of the landscape mirrored the vibrant energy we felt, setting the tone for the adventures ahead. Our artistic journey led us to Ghost Ranch, a place that holds the spirit of Georgia O'Keeffe. Here, we participated in a painting workshop, capturing the breathtaking scenery that inspired one of America’s most iconic artists. The Georgia O'Keeffe Museum deepened our connection to her legacy, offering a closer look at her work and the world through her eyes.
In a transformative two-day pigment-making workshop, we learned to create paint directly from the earth and rocks around us. This hands-on experience connected us to the land in a profound way, teaching us to notice the textures, colors, and materials that make up our world. The simple act of grinding pigments became a meditative practice, fostering a deep sense of presence and mindfulness. We continued our practice of observation through a photography workshop in learning to capture details of the world around us, learning how to compositionally incorporate many elements of the workshops we’d been taking through out the trip!
Throughout the retreat, we cultivated friendships that felt as vibrant as the art we created. Whether sharing stories under the desert stars or laughing over meals, our time together was filled with warmth and camaraderie. The adventure continued as we explored Santa Fe’s renowned art scene. From endless art galleries to the immersive experience of a clay bar, we embraced the city’s rich cultural heritage. Every corner of Santa Fe seemed to hum with creativity, leaving us inspired and enriched. This retreat was more than a getaway; it was a journey of self-discovery, artistic growth, and meaningful connection. As we returned home, we carried with us not just memories but also a renewed sense of purpose and inspiration.
